In the latest "90's nostalgia" concert, "Under the Sun Tour" 2013, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray recently announced the majority of the upcoming dates for the summer tour featuring iconic bands from the 1990's: Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Smashmouth, Vertical Horizon & Fastball!

The Sugar Ray frontman decided to launch his own flashback concert after touring with fellow '90s pop/rock bands Everclear, Gin Blossoms, Lit and Marcy Playground during Summerland concert last summer.

"It was great, and it proved to me there's a market for this kind of thing. We weren't reinventing the wheel. Every decade has their tours. There's the Sixties, the Seventies, the Eighties. . . But nobody had done the Nineties yet, so Art Alexakis [of Everclear] and I kinda got together and did it. I'm looking forward to doing it again."

This time around, McGrath swapped the "Father of Mine" hit producers Everclear, "Sex and Candy" crooners Marcy Playground, and "My own Worst Enemy" musicians Lit for the "All Star" singers of Smashmouth, "Everything You Want" makers Vertical Horizon, and the "Wrong Way" band Fastball. Sticking with the "Hey Jealousy" singers of Gin Blossoms, this lineup for "Under the Sun" proves to just as awesome this summer.

"Again, we all have a ton of hits. You're going to hear them from top to bottom, quick changeovers. We proved last time this will work. I'm ready to do this for the rest of my life." McGrath tells Rolling Stone.

The Sugar Ray singer also admits to Rolling Stone that he didn't exactly see "eye to eye" with Everclear's Art Alexakis on their last tour together, so he decided to "Fly" away with Sugar Ray on his new tour.

"Unfortunately, Art and I have different ideas about what the tour is about. He's doing his own thing now, and I put together a tour called Under the Sun. It carries out a similar vibe. If you had a hit in the Nineties, you are welcome to play it."

Mark lost the other two band members of Sugar Ray when they quit back in 2011, but he continues to use the 'Sugar Ray' name as he continues on solo.

"I get called Sugar Ray all day long. We worked hard on that name. I'm Sugar Ray no matter what happens. It's something I'm proud of, so I'm fighting hard to keep the name. I think it's something that I'm entitled to. I came up with the name. I'm the voice, the face. It's something we're working on and I think we'll come up with a good resolution."
