The Marvel Cinematic Universe approach of the conflict between Iron Man and Captain America is reaching theaters this summer, and it's one of the most highly expected films of 2016. Months before the Captain America: Civil War premiere, Don Cheadle, who plays Rhodey/War Machine in the MCU, opens up about how big his superhero will be in this film – and it seems the Avenger is "pivotal."
According to Den of Geek, the Academy Award-nominated actor is currently making his rounds at the Sundance Film Festival, but seeing as he's appearing in a major Marvel movie in just a few months, news outlets weren't about to leave him off the hook. Obviously, he was asked what we could expect from his War Machine in the next film of the MCU franchise.
"I never know what it's going to be and they keep their cards very close to their breast with Marvel," Cheadle told Super Hero Hype during the iconic independent film festival. "I never know where the character's going to go, but he's become more and more and in the next one, you'll see that what happens to Rhodey is a little bit more intense and pivotal to what happens in the rest of the stories."
Only a few days back, a rumor emerged that there were four Avengers rumored to die in Civil War, and War Machine was among them. A close pal to Robert Downey Jr.'s character, Tony Stark/Iron Man, it would certainly make sense for the character to die protecting their joint cause, and that would probably stir further conflict between the billionaire superhero and Chris Evans' Captain America.
But really, hopefully that's just a rumor and nobody will die in the film, though that seems unlikely at this point now that the MCU is becoming more and more crowded.
In any case, Cheadle's got his hands full for now; he just made his directing début with Miles Ahead, a Miles Davis biopic where he also plays the lead role.© 2018 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
