After it was officially announced last week that Jimmy Fallon would be replacing Jay Leno and taking over hosting duties of NBC's "The Tonight Show," one big question has been sticking out in the minds of music fans: "Will the Roots stay when Jimmy Fallon takes over hosting duties from Jay Leno on the Tonight Show in 2014?" Well, to be frank: Yes. Thanks to an interview on FUSE, The Roots' bandleader Questlove (or "?uestlove") confirmed his group as the new "Tonight Show" band starting in 2014.

"'The Tonight Show' is coming to us. We are not going to 'The Tonight Show,'" said the drummer, producer and DJ during an interview with FUSE TV. "The Tonight Show" is indeed moving to New York from Los Angeles, California, in NBC's move to reach a younger audience in the earlier time slot. Plans for a whole new set in New York are also in the works for 2014.

Questlove continued:

"That's a year from now, anything can happen. So right now we're just very concerned and kind of just concentrating on still doing our thing at 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.' We're honored to kind of receive the baton and pass down tradition...Yeah, we're staying."

Last week, NBC officially announced Leno's departure from the weeknight talk show and Fallon's new position taking over the vacant post. Fallon's "Late Night" talk show is so far left without a host, but rumors are circling around "Saturday Night Live" head writer and "Weekend Update" correspondent Seth Myers. Lorne Michaels, who produces both "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and "SNL" is set to take over producing duties of "The Tonight Show" when Fallon takes over in the spring of 2014.

After the official announcement of his departure, Leno released the following statement:

"Congratulations Jimmy. I hope you're as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you're the old guy. If you need me, I'll be at the garage."
