The makers of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising has finally released the first red band trailer and by the looks of it, the new film is going to be raunchier then its prequel. Not only this, if the recent reports are to be believed then Pixar's animated movie, Toy Story 2, is the source of inspiration behind the upcoming comedy film.
The first film, Neighbors, showed how Seth Rogen and his family are driven made by his neighbors who were lead by Zac Efron. The film was made against a budget of $18 million dollars and, according to Box Office Mojo, it went on to earn $270 million dollars
Universal Pictures announced in 2015 that a sequel to Neighbors was in development, titled Sorority Rising, with Nicholas Stoller set to return as a director. The principal photography of the film commenced in mid-2015. It was earlier reported by Variety that Chloe Grace Moretz will join the rest of the cast in which she will be playing the role of Shelby, the leader of Kappa Kappa Nu.
The released trailer shows, Mac (played by Rogen) and Kelly (played by Rose Byrne) have a second baby on the way and for a better future and atmosphere, they move to suburbs. Soon they find out that their new neighbors are a sorority who are even more out of control than Teddy (played by Efron) and his brothers. The rest of the trailer shows how the Mac's team will fight against the sorority girls. Check out the NSFW trailer here:
While writing the story of Neighbors 2, Director Stoller went looking at other comedy sequels that were successful in an attempt to find inspiration for his own movie. In an interview with Yahoo Movie, he told that for the R-rated comedy film, he got the inspiration from Toy Story 2.
"I looked at the Toy Story movies as inspiration. If the first Neighbors is a dumb, gross, R-rated Toy Story, this is like a dumb, gross, R-rated Toy Story 2."
