Record executive, Freeband Double D, was gunned down in his Maybach in Atlanta Thursday. The Hip Hop community is mourning the tragic death of the mogul who was gunned down after a white SUV pulled up next to his vehicle on I-20 and proceded to shoot at the Maybach.
Freeband was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead. According to DeKalb County Police Department, Mekka Parish says that the incident that had occurred during rush hour could have been worse, "We potentially could've had an extremely dangerous situation. At this point, we are still looking into the background of this victim."
This isn't the first time a Hip Hop artist has been a victim in a drive by shooting. In 1996, Tupac Shakur was gun downed in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas. A year later, Shakur's rival Biggie Smalls was gunned down in Los Angeles. Recently, Rick Ross almost became a victim in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Ross was driving his Rolls Royce on Los Olas Boulevard around 5 a.m. when he was shot at causing him to crash into an apartment complex when the car turned the corner lost control, according to Fort Lauderdale Police.
