From the comedic mind of Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-head), the Season 3 premiere of Silicon Valley arrives on HBO. In Episode 1, will Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), Richard Hendriks (Thomas Middleditch), and the rest of the tech gang survive 'Founder Friendly?
Richard is just learned that he has been just fired from Pied Piper. Elrich and Richard are in the car when they hit a robot deer with their car. In front of their inventors, Elrich starts kicking the robot deer after it gets up. Richard shows up with his lawyer as Monica (Amanda Crew) tries to stop him.
At the meeting, Richard is furious that he has to be an employee of his own company. Richard promises he will fight this but he cannot have his lawyer with him. Richard quits after he hears Laurie Bream (Suzanne Cryer) wants his input on a replacement.
Jared (Zach Woods), Dinesh (Martin Starr) and Gilfoyle (Kumail Nanjiani) learn that Jack Baker has been named as CEO's replacement. As the team debates about sticking with Barker, Belson (Matt Ross) has to announce to his employees at Hooli Nucleus that they are fired. The entire Nucleus team has been let go.
Dinesh and Gilfoyle debate about whether they should leave, along with Richard. Even though they think of Richard as a friend, they don't want to give up their shares. Jared then hands Richard a box of files from companies who want him as their CEO.
Barker (Stephen Tobolowsky) turns out to be a huge fan of Elrich. With the Hooli shares going up, Belson is still in trouble with his lawsuits. Richard is excited about meeting with the other companies but that means Jared will not have a job. Elrich tries to convince Richard to meet with his replacement at Pied Piper.
Richard laughs when he hears Dinesh and Gilfoyle want to stay with Pied Piper. With his team divided, Richard shows up at Flutterbeam. During a video chat, which mocks the Snapchat filters, Richard is given a 3D holographic mustache.
After Richard gets a call from Monica, he meets with his former lawyer, who violated his parole. Dinesh and Gilfoyle realize Richard had worked on most of the code himself. As Richard gets advice to swallow his pride, Big Head (Josh Brener) will receive 20 billion dollars just for leaving Hooli and not say anything bad about Belson.
Richard meets with Barker, who doesn't want to work at Pied Piper without him. After getting in his car, Richard drives back and tires to work things out with Barker.
