One of the stars of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy, Vin Diesel, has confirmed that he, along with the rest of the Guardians, will be making an appearance in the much-awaited threequel to the Avengers installment.

According to GamesRadar, the actor, who voices Groot in the movie, said, "The Guardians will be included in Avengers Infinity War and that's incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting, and something that if you were part in our page, you knew before everybody, or you were told before everybody.."

Guardians director James Gunn had previously said that they will not be mentioning the Infinity Stones nor Thanos in the sequel. "As I've said before, Thanos isn't in this movie. I think he's gonna have a little bit to do and say when it comes to a certain wars and infinity. We've got other fish to fry in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Marvel has already planned the order in which their movies will go this year and for the years to come, broken down into three phases.

Phase 1 had Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and Avengers Assemble.

Phase 2 included Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man.

So far, Phase 3 has officially opened with a bang, with the release of Captain America: Civil War earlier this year, and November will be the premiere of a new face in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Doctor Strange.

With the many crossovers (some obvious, some very subtle ones) in a span of 12 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, culminating in the third Avengers movie (the first of a two-parter), we can be certain that there will be more familiar faces to appear as time goes by.

The 2017 releases for Marvel include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok.

Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 is slated to premiere on May 4, 2018, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo at the helm. According to IGN, the sibling directors stated that this movie and its sequel will usher in a new beginning for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anthony Russo said, "In being a culmination, these movies in some ways going to be an end to certain things, and in some ways, they're going to be a beginning to certain things.."

In the meantime, check out the cast's appearance at this year's SDCC below:
