Looks like Hakkasan will be the only nightclub making its Las Vegas nightlife debut this month... LIGHT will apparently be "tardy for the party" as the nightclub delays "turning on" its switch.
The Light Group broke the dimming news this weekend that the Grand Opening of the highly anticipated LIGHT Nightclub Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay has been postponed. Due to construction delays, the Cirque-du-Soleil-themed nightclub will now make its debut Memorial Day Weekend with a revised lineup. Originally scheduled to launch this coming weekend (April 26th), LIGHT revealed it's new opening date in a statement via Twitter:
"We are very sorry to announce that due to construction delays, the opening of Light Nightclub has been pushed to Memorial Day Weekend.... We understand that this affects many of you who have already purchased tickets and offer you the option to reschedule for the DJs' next date at the venue for a full refund."
The short notice of the delayed opening was met with frustration, notes Las Vegas Weekly, as disappointed LIGHT-seekers had already purchased plane tickets, booked hotel rooms and paid for the opening weekend shows featured in the original lineup.
"Vegas delays" are not extremely uncommon, however, as nightclubs rarely open on the initial expected date. For example, the recently initiated Hakkasan Nightclub was expected to open its doors in time for New Years Eve 2013, but only made its Sin City debut this past weekend.
Brighter news surrounding LIGHT came days later, as The Light Group tweeted on Sunday:
The Light website now has Memorial Day Weekend listed as the opening, with a lineup including Axwell, Baauer, Otto Knows, Sebastian Ingrosso, Skrillex and Zedd. A full announcement is expected on April 24 (Wednesday) to unveil the rest of the details surrounding the club's opening.
Designed as an experience to tantalize all five senses, LIGHT will offer far more than the traditional nightclub. Entering the realm of the unknown, each guest who experiences LIGHT will instantly become part of the interactive show. The chic, fashion-forward 38,000-square-foot venue features high-tech production and theatrics, as well as world-renowned DJs and performers who will turn on a new kind of passion and creativity, redefining a "night out," states PR Newswire.
MDW will now mark not only the debut of LIGHT at Mandalay Bay, but also of its sister party pool 'Daylight Beach Club' which also plans to open at the same resort, reveals Vegas Chatter. The "adults-only pool experience" will be brought to us by The Light Group as well.
Although we're forced to live in the dark for one more month as we wait for LIGHT to "turn on" in Vegas, the new Grand Opening Weekend lineup for the Cirque-inspired club is sure to be just as beaming as the original and worth the wait!© 2018 Mstars News, All rights reserved.
