J.K. Rowling teases fans about Dumbledore being openly gay in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ sequel

Harry Potter spin off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is only a few days away before it hits the cinemas.

Just in case the fans are hoping to see characters from Harry Potter in the new franchise then people are in for a treat, the second installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise is reported to include a young Albus Dumbledore. The Fantastic Beasts franchise will consist of five films as per Warner Bros. As Harry Potter fans may already know, book author and screenplay writer J.K. Rowling once revealed the character of Albus Dumbledore to be gay back in an appearance during 2007.

So when the Rowling was asked if the movie will show a gay Albus, the author responded, " You will see Dumbledore as a younger man and quite a troubled man." Rowling further stated, "We'll see him at that formative period of his life. As far as his sexuality is concerned," she said taking a beat, "watch this space." clearly hinting an affirmative respond as reported by Variety. The Author also stated that because the franchise was obviously a five part film, there are plenty of reveal in that relationship.

This happened in Thursday's press conference with the Fantastic Beasts cast members along with J.K. Rowling, film director David Yates, and producer David Heyman. According to Time, Rowling gave out word that the coming sequels will show Dumbledore's with dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

The film brings the viewers into the hauntingly magical world of Harry Potter once more as it premiers on the 18th of November. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars like Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Colin Farrell.
