AJ Clemente, a local news anchor in North Dakota, was fired Monday after he cursed his first words on air in his first broadcast.

As the 5p.m. evening news broadcast began on Sunday, Clemente uttered the words "f*cking sh*t." His co-anchor, Van Tieu, did her best to get through her introduction of Clemente, who also stumbled his way through his first few lines on air.

Clemente tweeted "That couldn't have gone any worse!" after the broadcast and later tweeted apologies and thanks to the viewers for their support. Tieu also apologized to viewers at the start of the 10 p.m. broadcast Sunday.

It appeared as if Clemente also said "gay" before the aforementioned curse words, but he tweeted that he was trying to pronounce the name of the London Marathon winner, Tsegaye Kebede.

Clemente then tweeted on Monday that KFYRTV in North Dakota decided to fire him and added the following tweet:

Clemente graduated from West Virginia University. He said on the broadcast that he is "from the East Coast."

He may have only been employed at KFYRTV for one day, but what a day it was.
