Lionsgate has officially called off "Divergent: Ascendant" and announced it will become a television movie instead. While this was tough news to handle for the cast and crew of the movie, life has to go on.

Fans of the "Divergent" series were also devastated to hear the news especially learning that the original cast Shailene Woodley and Theo James will not be on the TV movie version. Shailene has expressed her frustration about the decision but respects it being a professional Hollywood actress.

But Shailene is far from any other Hollywood actress. As many actresses are busy with product endorsements and cast calls, she is currently standing at Standing Rock in freezing temperatures, trying to save the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Time has published Shailene's message about her protest with special attention to her arrest last October 10. She was arrested together with 26 other native Americans who were fighting the right for their land, for clean water and for the environment. She said that her arrest was headlined almost everywhere while those that were with her were not included in the news.

Shailene strongly opposes the construction of the pipeline and points out that water contamination as well as environmental pollution is imminent. She encourages people to stand together with the Sioux people of Standing Rock Reservation and for clean water that future generations will be able to enjoy.

MStars News reported a few days ago that new cast members for "Ascendant" will surely be announced soon  but it seems Shailene's mind is far from her previous role as Beatrice Prior. She now hopes that her small voice would reach out to millions to help save Standing Rock.

Shailene Woodley is with more than 200 people, including Native Americans, at Standing Rock. She is battling freezing temperatures and the oppression of local police trying to stop the protest. Latest news revealed that they are being dispersed using water canons and rubber bullets. Shailene and her group are very active in social media and she tweets almost every day about their condition in Standing Rock.
