Google unveiled its 2015 smartphone lineup, the Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P, and new Android 6.0 Marshmallow software features.

Google's low-budget Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are now featured with luxury biometric options of Pixel devices. The fingerprint scanning option that enables Pixel users to open notifications with swiping down the fingerprint sensor is now available in Nexus 5 and Nexus 6P.

It's a high-tech facility in a low budget smartphone making it compatible in many ways. The lowest priced variant of Google Pixel smartphone starts from 649 US$ whereas Nexus 5X is priced at US$ 299 only. According to Google, Nexus 5X bears 5.2" screen with 4K HD resolution.

Nexus 5X is powered by 2700 mAh battery Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 1.8 GHz hexacore 64 bit and Adreno 618 GPU. Nexus 5X is convincingly slim and fashionable. Nexus 5X and 6P are based on Android 7.1.2 featuring both the smartphones with the latest software platform. Nexus P6 is defined with 5.7" corning Gorilla class 4 glass with 4K resolution and 3450 mAh battery.

With Nexus 5X and 6P, Google seems aggressively pursuing a competitive market strategy with matching technology and competitive prices. Nexus 5X and 6P are introduced with Android 7.1.2 to make it compatible with fingerprint sensing technology along with many other advanced features.

Techtimes, quoted an unknown Google employee as saying that without fingerprint gestures and Android 7.1.2, both Nexus 5X and 6P have nothing groundbreaking innovation. He also explained that both Nexus 5X and 6P have similar hardware and software features.

It also worth mentioning here that Android 7.1.2 has not been rolled out for general public yet which means that updates are only available for Nexus and Pixel devices. Fingerprint scanner at the back side of the smartphones facilitates the users to comfortably use biometric scanner.

Fingerprint scanning is now a common feature being presented by all the major brands to its customers. This technology is improving with more secured and smooth functioning supported by befitting hardware upgrades.
