The 2017 Super Bowl has begun. Luke Bryan took to stage to perform a slow and steady version of the National Anthem of the United States of America at Super Bowl LI at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday. Bryan received rave reviews for his version of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Bryan's understated National Anthem performance came before the NFL Super Bowl LI game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons on February 5. Luke Bryan who is well known for his catchy country tunes opted for a calmed down approach for the patriotic tune which of course had a little twang, reports People.

Praise and good words for Luke Bryan's version of the National Anthem started pouring on Twitter after his performance at the 2017 Super Bowl LI. One of the fans expressed the desire to hear Luke Bryan sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl even next year and the other one expressed how it was one of the most beautiful things ever heard, reports Fox News.

This is not the first Luke Bryan has sung the National Anthem. It can be remembered that he took help from the lyrics written on his hand when he sang the National Anthem at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game. And this performance at the 2017 Super Bowl gave him a chance to correct his doing.

The Georgia-born singer took the National Anthem performance seriously and opted for an intense practice schedule to prepare for the same. Luke Bryan wanted to make sure that this time his performance turns out to be just right without any negative criticism involved. In an interview, Bryan had shared that singing the national anthem is challenging and nerve-wracking. Last year, it was Lady Gaga who sang her version of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" and this time she has returned to the 2017 Super Bowl as the halftime show performer.
