The official website of the "Star Wars" franchise just revealed new information about "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". New tidbits are now available for fans to ogle about the supporting characters, weapons, vehicles and droids. But the best thing about the information update is the locations.
As Comic Book said, the data regarding Rebel bases as well as holy cities give a whole new perspective to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". All in all, the Star Wars website gave some insight into nine locations. Plus, their official descriptions also show what they mean to Jyn Erso and her family.
First up is Lah'Mu, a desolate wasteland with barely any inhabitants. The Erso family fled to here from Coruscant, in the hopes that they could escape the clutches of the Empire. But the seemingly endless horizon shown in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" immediately became a prison once the Empire set foot there.
The next location is the Rebel Massassi Outpost, a place peppered with temples erected by a long-gone species. In "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", this is where the rebel leaders concocted their plans to overthrow the Empire. But the movie is not the only one featuring the Yavin 4 base. The "Star Wars Rebels" TV show does too, which means it and the movie might have parallels.
Another location is the Erso Homestead. The 65-hectar spread is situated on the far eastern side of the planet Lah'Mu. It became Galen Erso's family's refuge after they escaped from the Empire in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".
Other locations the Star Wars website were the Holy City of Jedha, Eadu, Wobani, Cadera Catacombs and Mustafar. They are all interesting locations which the Ersos have some sort of connection to in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". However, they are also fascinating because they are actual locations from all over the world. Yes, Uproxx rounded up five filming sites that a fan could pay homage to.
For example, Yavin 4 is actually Tikal, Guatemala. There are Mayan jungles in the area which "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" used in their filming. And another one is Eadu, which is Mýrdalssandur Beach in Iceland.© 2019 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
