The fans are waiting eagerly for Microsoft Surface Pro 5 as its been an year since Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was launched. The device is still officially unannounced, however, the rumours and speculations are high.

As per the reports, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might not launch until spring 2017. The device was expected to be announced at Mobile World Congress in February this year, however, it was a no-show at the event. The company is expected to announce Microsoft Surface Pro 5 at its event in October this year.

The Surface Pro series features one of the most successful hybrid laptop devices. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will continue the legacy and will be one of the best hybrid laptops when available. The current generation Surface Pro has an optional Core i7 processor and it is being reported that Microsoft might opt for AMD Ryzen chips for its Surface Pro 5.

According to PC Advisor, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might skip Intel's processors this time and move to the latest generation processors from AMD. These speculations have surfaced from a trailer for the movie Alien: Covenant that shows a device which appears to the next generation of Surface Pro. This film is sponsored by AMD and the description reads as "Intelligence powered by AMD, Ryzen and Radeon".

These speculations counter the previous ones according to which the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 processor instead of an Intel Kaby Lake processor. This might have proved beneficial because the Snapdragon processor will provide a better battery life and LTE connectivity.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to come with a 2K screen with an optional 4K model. The new device will also sport a USB-C port which will also be used for charging, Express reported.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be priced at around $1000 for the base model. The prices will vary depending upon the configuration. Also, there are reports that suggest Samsung is designing the Surface Pro 5 rival called Galaxy Book.
