"The Bold and the Beautiful" may bid goodbye to Katie soon, following news that Heather Tom will go back to hosting. The actress will replace Sharon Osbourne as a guest host in "The Talk."
According to Soap She Knows, "The Bold and the Beautiful" star has been asked to co-host "The Talk" while Osbourne recuperates from her injury. The "X-Factor" UK judge underwent surgery for a pinched nerve and is now recovering. Tom will fill in for Osbourne until such time she is well enough to get back to hosting.
What does her appearance in "The Talk" mean for her role as Katie in "The Bold and the Beautiful?" Does this mean that Tom may have to quit the show to focus on hosting? Coincidentally, Tom has had minor appearances lately in the CBS series.
Likewise, Tom tends to serve as a supporting role in "The Bold and the Beautiful." She has been the annoying sister and meddler. So far, the past episodes did not give Tom's Katie a good storyline. Viewers may have even already found her character a nuisance.
This week's episodes of "The Bold and the Beautiful" are no different. Katie continues to badger her sister Brooke about her suspicions on Ridge and Quinn. At one point according to Soap Central, she angers Brooke with all her assumptions about Ridge's affair with Quinn.
A permanent move to "The Talk" may not be a bad idea for Tom since she reportedly fits in with the rest of the panel. Likewise, it is unclear how long Osbourne will be out of the show, so Tom may as well forego her appearances in "The Bold and the Beautiful."
It is also fitting to mention that Tom has co-hosted for "The Talk" several times in the past. She had a three-month stint as a co-host last year and everyone loved her. Regardless, CBS has yet to confirm if Tom has plans to leave "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a hosting career.
