Real-life Hollywood couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski will be starring together in the movie, "A Quiet Place". Kasinski himself will direct the supernatural thriller. This marksKrasinski'ss first film with a major studio like Paramount/Platinum Dunes. This is also the first time that the couple will star together in a major motion picture.
Variety reported that the film "A Quiet Place" will revolve around a family threatened by a supernatural creature. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods originally wrote the script. Paramount subsequently bought it in a rare blind write-to-direct deal before Emily Blunt and John Krasinski joined the production.
Krasinski reportedly made some small changes to the script. Platinum Dunes, which also produced "The Purge", is going to go the low-budget route with "A Quiet Place", according to the Hollywood Reporter. The thriller will take place on a rural farm, where Emily Blunt and John Krasinski will play a family terrorized by a supernatural monster.
Allyson Seeger will join Krasinski, Beck, and Woods as executive producer. Reports also indicated that Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes will be part of the production. Although the married couple has done thrillers before, this is the first time that Emily Blunt and John Kasinski will star in a film together.
Krasinski is no stranger to the film industry as an executive producer, though. He served as the EP behind the Oscar-awarded "Manchester by the Sea". He also co-wrote the script for "Promised Land" with Matt Damon and he will soon appear in Amazon's "Jack Ryan" series. His wife, meanwhile, is currently filming Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns". After that, Emily Blunt and John Kasinski will be shooting "A Quiet Place".
There's still no set date for the thriller, but it will most likely be in 2018 since production is set to begin soon. Although Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were credited with an appearance in "The Muppets", they did not share a scene together.
