Anyone who has been on Instagram as of late would have noticed a slew of A-list celebrities posting pictures of themselves holding up the 'W' sign. These superstars are doing it to show support for World Water Day.

The A-list celebrities who made a showing for World Water Day also did it to support Drop4Drop. The organization is a charitable institution that aims to bring clean water to people worldwide. According to Harper's Bazaar, the worldwide water crisis is affecting more than 700 million people, with 2,000 children kicking the bucket daily.

In line with that, many A-list celebrities are showing support for the initiative by holding the 'W' sign in their Instagram posts. Supermodel siblings Cara and Poppy Delevingne, are an example, who each made separate posts for World Water Day. The former Victoria's Secret model urged her followers to support Drop4Drop by saying that all people should be given access to clean water. Meanwhile, her bespectacled sister captioned her photo with something similar and also appealed to her followers to make a donation to the initiative.

Drop4Drop's Instagram also shared a snap of Emma Stone doing the 'W' sign for the World Water Day cause. MTV France posted a video of "The Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence doing the same sign for her, Cosmopolitan shared. British music sensations Adele and Ed Sheeran also used their A-list celebrity status to inform and spread the word about the clean water initiative.

Even former USA President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama showed their support for World Water Day. The power couple, who can be considered as A-list celebrities, made the post through their Obama Foundation Instagram account. The foundation, however, made no mention of Drop4Drop nor did they make the 'W' sign in their photo. Nevertheless, the account informed everyone that though the Obamas are no longer in the White House, they have not stopped working for the good cause.
