The much-awaited game, "Endless Space 2" has finally received a release date. The sequel to the original "Endless Space "will launch on May 19 as announced by the publisher, Amplitude Studios.
"Endless Space 2" is a 4X strategy game which initially debuted on Steam Early Access in October last year. Since then, fans were waiting for its final release. The game will be available in both standard and digital deluxe editions. The box collectors will not be disappointed as the games will also release in retail packaging when launched, PCGamer reported.
Amplitude Studios has made sure that retail version owners will get some special goodies and freebies with the copy of "Endless Space 2". The retail version will feature a double-sided Pathfinder Academy poster and a printed version of "The Last Flight of the Gray Owl" which is a community driven original story that was written for "Endless Space".
The sequel, "Endless Space 2", is really an interesting take on the 4X genre. The game features heavy RPG (Role-Playing Game) elements and the factions are fundamentally different from each other. The creative director of Amplitude Studios said, "it would be better to have an unbalanced game with crazy factions all being different than to have a perfectly balanced game with all the factions looking alike."
"Endless Space 2" is now available for $30 for the Standard Edition and $37 for the Digital Deluxe Edition for the Early Access purchase. These are the discounted prices as the game will officially retail for $40 and $50 for the Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition respectively when it launches on May 19. The Digital Deluxe Edition will include the soundtrack, Pathfinder Academy heroes and Hero Ship skins, Toms Hardware reported.
Amplitude Studios had a goal to stay in Early Access for four to six months as this would give enough time to developers to so that they could add new content and get feedback from the fans. According to the roadmap, the developer has planned three major updates for the "Endless Space 2" prior to game's release.
