Nothing is going as Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has planned on "Scandal" Season 6. In the upcoming episode, titled "Trojan Horse," Olivia's life will be threatened and she will have to put in every ounce of her energy to ensure that Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) does not become the POTUS if she wants to survive.

Papa Pope (Joe Mortin) will be seen warning Olivia on "Scandal" Season 6 Episode 11 that she will be the first one to get targeted by the opposition if Cyrus wins the presidential race. This is because Peus, her sworn enemy, will do whatever it takes to make Mellie (Bellamy Young) the next one to rule the White House.

The situation is not as simple as Olivia would have hoped since Cyrus has already been proven innocent in the murder case of Francisco Vargas. He is also ahead in terms of poll predictions and would probably be able to rope in the majority of the popular votes on "Scandal" Season 6.

The only thing that could swing Olivia's way is the Electoral College. Electoral votes are still to be tallied and that could make the difference between ultimately winning and losing the elections on "Scandal" Season 6, TV Guide reports.

Mellie is not yet ready to give up the fight, which is another silver lining that Olivia could use to her advantage. However, before she is ready to throw her support behind Mellie, "Scandal" Season 6 will see Olivia fighting with her guilty conscience first.

Despite all the characters dashing to the finish line in the fictional version of US elections on "Scandal" Season 6, the winner might be kept under wraps until the beginning of the next season, providing the show with the ultimate cliffhanger. Even though showrunner, Shonda Rimes, has not ruled out the possibility of a president being revealed by the end of the present season, she told Entertainment Weekly that nothing has been finalized yet.

The showrunner also mentioned during a separate interview that her team is having difficulties coming up with plotlines since many events of the show have begun coinciding with what is happening in reality in today's US politics. "Scandal" Season 6 episode 11, airs on Thursday, April 20 on ABC. Watch Live stream only on ABC Go
