Toys'R'Us has revealed a new look for Optimus Prime from one of its movie-tie in products for "Transformers: The Last Knight." The Autobot's color design surprisingly now contains yellow, which coincides with speculations that after Bumblebee dies, Optimus uses his body parts to rebuild himself.
Screenrant shared the image of Optimus Prime in his new look in "Transformers: The Last Knight." It is not hard to miss the yellow color mixed with his traditional silver, blue and red design. The shade is scattered everywhere on his body, from his head to his feet.
It is unclear how Optimus achieved this new color scheme, although his yellow abdomen shares a resemblance to Bumblebee. The Autobot's new color is also telling of Bumblebee's rumored demise in "Transformers: The Last Knight."
Speculations are rife that Bumblebee dies during a fight with his former leader. Following his death, Optimus Prime supposedly uses some of his body parts to rebuild himself. Interestingly, the trailer for "Transformers: The Last Knight" also hints at Bumblebee's death. The video below shows Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) try to stop Optimus from killing his fellow Autobot.
In "Transformers: The Last Knight" Bumblebee continues to side with the humans in a fight staged in the medieval period. Optimus Prime, on the other hand, has gone rogue. He betrays his friends and the human race. Consequences that led to his turn to the dark side remain unknown.
However, according to the Nerd Reactor a Quintesson--the creator of the Autobots and Decepticons-is to blame. The trailer for "Transformers: The Last Knight" teased the appearance of a Quintesson through the female robot interrogating Optimus, while he is bound in chains.
The Quintessons treated the Autobots and Decepticons as slaves, which prompted the robots to rebel. Perhaps Optimus is being mind-controlled by the Quintesson as his redemption. This would explain why he turns evil and kills Bumblebee in "Transformers: The Last Knight."
