Fans were clearly surprised at the turn of events in the Season 1 Finale, especially with Jack's death. His death left viewers stunned and especially curious since the finale did not reveal how he died. Thankfully, fans will get closure from Jack's death in "This Is Us" Season 2.
Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall, dished some spoilers for "This Is Us" Season 2 in an interview with TV Guide. He confirmed that the installment will definitely shed light on Jack's death. That funeral scene will have its clarification in the installment. He assured that fans will know what caused his death.
Likewise, the casts addressed the mystery surrounding Jack's death during a panel interview at PaleyFest. They confirmed that "This Is Us" Season 2 will explore the details of his demise. "It happens exactly how you think it is going to," Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby, said.
Of course, they did not reveal anything else about Jack's death during the interview. Instead, they denied the popular theory concerning the 9/11 attack. According to TV Line, Randall said that Jack could not have died from the attack in New York because he is in Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, "This Is Us" Season 2 will also reveal if there will be a new member of the Pearson family. Randall and his wife Beth, played by Susan Kelechi Watson, have been thinking about adopting a baby boy in Season 1. The installment will reveal whatever their decision will be.
"It's clearly the beginning of a conversation between a husband and wife. It's something that's on his heart, when he reflects on the loss of William... and the gift he had being raised as a Pearson," Randall said as quoted by TV Line. NBC has yet to announce a release date for "This Is Us" Season 2 although it is expected to air in September 2017.
