"Supergirl" Season 3 may not see the return of Sanvers (Sawyer and Danvers) following news of Floriana Lima's exit. Her departure from the series hints Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer may not get to the altar after all.
The Season 2 Finale was full of surprises, but nothing was more surprising than Alex proposing to her girlfriend Maggie. It remains unknown whether the two will marry, since Maggie did not say yes. However, news about Lima's exit as a series regular in "Supergirl" Season 3 hints there may be no wedding bells for the couple.
According to TV Line, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed in a statement, that Lima (Maggie Sawyer) is "looking to pursue other opportunities." However, she will appear in "multiple episodes" of "Supergirl" Season 3. It is unclear though if by multiple he meant just two or three episodes out of the commissioned 22.
Likewise, Lima confirmed her exit from the show on her Twitter. "This role was meant for one season," she tweeted. Does this mean Maggie and Alex are over in "Supergirl" Season 3? News about Lima's exit definitely had fans worry about Sanvers' fate in the installment.
However, Lima assured fans that she will still appear in "Supergirl" Season 3. She also assured that Sanvers is not over. "I'm excited to appear in Season 3, as we see the #Supergirl story unfold #Sanvers #NotOverYet," she wrote.
News about Lima's exit came after The CW released the synopsis for "Supergirl" Season 3. Maggie is not among the characters returning for the installment. In the synopsis posted by Kryptonsite, only Mon-El, The Guardian, Cat Grant, Alex and Winn, to name a few, are returning.
Lima's exit as Maggie Sawyer questions how Sanver's story ends in "Supergirl "Season 3. Will there be wedding bells for Maggie and Alex? Fans will have to find out when the show returns this Fall on The CW.© 2017 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
