The International Criminal Court offered Angelina Jolie to act as the honeytrap to catch the notorious criminal of Uganda, Joseph Kony. Recent leaks have disclosed this fact.
According to The Sunday Times, former chief prosecutor for the ICC, Moreno Ocampo, asked the Hollywood Star Jolie to help capture Kony. Detail reports surfaced in the emails that were shared with The Times by the Mediapart, the French website. Ocampo wrote in an email that the Hollywood star was ready to arrest the notorious war criminal of Uganda. It also revealed that her husband Brad Pitt would also come forward to help her in the said initiative.
In a word, the ICC wanted Jolie to involve in the plan to lure Kony in order to draw him out of his hiding. Leaks have indicated that Ocampo wanted to embed both Pitt and Jolie with the troops of the U.S. Special Forces near the stronghold of the said warlord. The plan to apprehend the criminal suggested inviting Kony to a dinner where he could be captured.
But, the truth is the said plan never came into action. Moreover, the cache of the emails suggested that the former chief prosecutor developed something like a fixation with the celebrities, like Jolie in his tenure. The aim was to investigate and at the same time prosecute the cases that included war crimes and genocide. Jolie revealed in 2010 in an interview that she would like to "take down" persons like Kony if left alone with them in a room, the U.S. Weekly reported.
Jolie even uttered in 2012 in the Telegraph that Kony is a horrible man. Now, Kony became infamous for his several bad works that include abducting children to make them sex slaves and soldiers. The International Criminal Court indicted this criminal in The Hague in 2005 for war crimes and also for crimes against the humanity. But this notorious man evaded capture.© 2017 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
