CBS will air the rescheduled Season 3 finale of "Mike and Molly" on Thursday night after the network pulled the episode 10 days earlier in the wake of the Oklahoma Tornado. The episode features a plot in which a tornado descends upon Chicago, the city in which the show takes place.
The Season 3 finale of the CBS sitcom was originally supposed to air on Monday, May 20, but the network decided to pull the episode that night in the wake of the tornado that devastated Moore, Oklahoma earlier that day. The natural disaster killed 24 people and injured more than 350.
A CBS spokesperson released the following statement after the network pulled the episode:
"Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of 'Mike & Molly,' which has a related storyline. A repeat broadcast of 'Mike & Molly' will run in the time period. The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date."
That "appropriate date" is 10 days later on Thursday, May 30 at 8:30 p.m.
The official episode description for the Season 3 finale of "Mike and Molly" is as follows:
