Mariah Carey, fresh off the news that she will not be returning for season 13 of "American Idol" as a judge, announced the release date for her new 2013 album. Mimi announced on Twitter on Wednesday that her new, but still untitled album will be released July 23. Carey tweeted, "The New Era Begins.. 7/23 #MC723." There has been no additional information given about the album, but you can be sure we will be seeing a lot of Carey as the album's release date approaches. Carey's new single "#Beautiful" with Miguel is already creating some buzz.
Carey and Miguel's song already hit number 17 on the US charts, according to TheDrop.Fm, and will likely crack the top 10 by next week. Carey's latest album will be her first studio album since 2009's LP, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
Carey will also be performing July 4 with Usher at the "Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular." You can read more about that right here on Mstars. Carey is also going to be going on a world tour to promote her new album, although no tour dates have been announced yet.
Carey's July 23 release date for her new album also happens to be the release date for Selena Gomez's Stars Dance album. Gomez's new single "Come and Get It" reached number six on the album charts and she has another new single "Slow Down" just released. The two divas will be facing off with their new 2013 albums.
