It is Monday, Aug. 12. That means tired workers get out of their beds to go back to work, children are savoring their last few days of summer and, of course, Lana Del Rey had three songs leak onto the Internet.
It's a pattern seen regularly on the 'net these days. In the last month, the "Young & Beautiful" songstress has had roughly 20 songs leak, be they old demos from her Lizzie Grant days (the Gaga diss track, "So Legit"), reworks of other songs ("Hot Hot Hot" and "In A Bad Way") or rumored tracks from her upcoming album ("Black Beauty").
Today, three more tracks have been released on Soundcloud: "Strange Love," "Your Band Is All The Rage" and "Living Without You."
It was previously unknown whether or not "Strange Love" was even a real, unreleased song from Del Rey, according to her fan wiki. However, the track is very much real and is the first newly leaked song from Del Rey. Featuring piercing opening vocals and quiet electronic drums, "Strange Love" is more typical Del Rey fare, than say, "Behind Closed Doors."
Song No. 2 "Your Band Is All The Rage" is a quiet, heartbreaking acoustic track. "I think we're losing what we used to have, you know, / You loved me better one year ago," Del Rey laments in the opening lines of the song. Yearning for a lover who has moved on to pursue his career, "Your Band Is All The Rage" is a raw, strong track, easily the best of today's leaked servings.
The final leaked song is "Living Without You," which opens with echoed vocals and is the demo version of "TV In Black And White." Reportedly recorded during Del Rey's Grant days, this "Living Without You" is a capella with a soft melody. The lack of instrumentation clearly marks this track as a demo but also allows Del Rey's true vocal talent shine through.
As stated, these three songs are nowhere near the first Lana Del Rey songs to leak to the Internet this summer. Check out some other unreleased songs from her below.
