Many of the reports that have emerged about the 2015 sequel to Man of Steel have referred to the film as Batman vs. Superman. But a new report reveals that Warner Bros. has a few different titles in mind.
Fusible reports that WB quietly registered eight titles through Internet brand protection company MarkMonitor. The titles are:
- Man of Steel: Battle the Knight
- Man of Steel: Beyond Darkness
- Man of Steel: Black of Knight
- Man of Steel: Darkness Falls
- Man of Steel: Knight Falls
- Man of Steel: Shadow of the Night
- Man of Steel: The Blackest Hour
- Man of Steel: The Darkness Within
WB also registered shorter titles such as Battle the Knight, Black of Knight, Knight Falls and The Blackest Hour.
This news does not mean that any of these titles would become the official title, but it seems like the studio wants to keep the Man of Steel phrase in the title without just calling it Man of Steel 2. It's worth noting that MarkMonitor is the same company that WB used for its own website, warnerbros.com, and the domain for SupermanvsBatman.com.
In other news, producer Charles Roven told Variety that the crew has a first draft of the film and they are continuing to work on it. "Those scripts are never fully finished until the movie is in theaters," he said.
Roven also explained the rationale behind the choice of Ben Affleck as Batman:
"We wanted a guy who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work. If you take a look at The Town and Argo, he plays a couple of serious guys in those movies. He's a big man. He's also a mature man. As you see him and Henry [Cavill] together, one definitely has much more experience just by looking at him. That's what we wanted, particularly juxtaposed against our Superman."© 2017 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
