It's been an unpleasant year for former Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson, with a cheating scandal regarding her husband Hank Baskett, she opens up to PEOPLE about making the touch decision to send her son away with the man who was allegedly cheating.
Wilkinson revealed that when the headlines broke that her husband of five years, Baskett, 32, may have cheated on her with a transsexual and while Wilkinson was pregnant with their second child, she flipped out and told him to leave their house.
"But then I allowed him to come back and get Little Hank, because we knew there was going to be this s--- storm. I had to calm down and really just think logically and figure out what the right thing to do was."
The NFL player's parent live in New Mexico and Kendra thought this was suitable place for Hank and son Hank Jr., 5, to hid out from the media until things got more under control. However, she felt uncomfortable with her choice.
"I was like, you need to take him and just hide out for a while," she says. "But what was so hard about it was that I felt I just gave my son away to the man who'd cheated on his family."
During this time, Kendra felt this was the best decision for her family. During the time they had a 4-month-old, Alija Mary, they had to be concerned about.
"It was so gross to me, but I knew in the back of my mind that he's a great father, and is the only one who could protect his son," the Kendra on Top star said. "If he'd stayed here, he'd have been hounded. If I took him to preschool, to the movies, I would not feel safe. But giving Little Hank to Hank to go to New Mexico was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life."
The new season of Kendra On Top premieres Oct. 3 10/9 c.
