It looks like Christina Aguilera will be taking a break from The voice, but another Latin beauty Shakira and R&B singer Usher will fill in for Aguilera and Cee Lo Green's empty seat in Spring season. Both Green and Aguilera are going to spend time off The Voice to focus on their individual careers.
"We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to 'The Voice," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. "Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and CeeLo. The participants on our show benefit from our coaches' expertise and their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return."
Celebrity coaches and judges are the latest thing for all the talent shows including The Voice, X Factor and American Idol.
The X Factor USA boasts of their newest additions Britney Spears and Demi Lovato in addition to L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell. American Idol has an all star cast including pop icon Mariah Carey, female MC Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban. And The Voice has country superstar Blake Shelton, hit-maker Adam Levine of Maroon 5, and their newest addition of Usher and Shakira.
Bother Usher and Shakira are no strangers to topping charts. Though they are not as hot as before, they are still recognized as modern icons.
