Just this past weekend, celebrity TV chef Guy Fieri officiated 101 same sex marriages in Miami. That's right, just over 100 gay couples had a mass wedding ceremony and the Diners Drive-ins and Dives TV personality presided over them all! This might come as a bit of a surprise since Fieri has been accused of homophobia and homophobic behavior in the past, all based on speculation, but it looks like the eccentric chef is putting those rumors to rest this week!

According to the Associated Press, Floridian celebrity chef Art Smith, known for his gigs cooking for Oprah Winfrey and more, organized this event after Florida lifted its previous ban on same sex marriages. He got Fieri to officiate the mass wedding, with a special cake for the 101 couples baked by another TV chef, Duff Goldman.

"My only agenda is to celebrate this and make it true in every state," Goldman, a gay rights advocate, said over the weekend. "We are not arbitrators of morality, we're cake decorators."

"For a state known for sunshine, it was living in the darkness when it came to LGBT rights and it was important to acknowledge that," Smith told the press.

Before performing his ordained duties, Time reports that Fieri told the couples and those gathered there that day that he was glad to partake in such an event and that he was honoring his late sister, who was also a lesbian, that day (via Film Drunk).

Rumors of Guy's alleged homophobia, which have since been denied and effectively cleared up after this week's grand gesture, started back in 2011 when an associated "told-all" in an interview. Read more on this here.
