The highly anticipated hacker drama, Mr. Robot, continues on USA Network. In tonight's Episode 2, will Angela (Portia Doubleday) suddenly discover Elliot (Rami Malek)'s secret revolution now that he has become involved with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater)'s twisted anarchist plans?
In our premiere recap, Elliot (Malek), suffering from an anti-social disorder, is only able to connect with people by actually hacking them. After saving his cybertech security firm and their client, Evil Corp, from a massive hack attack, Elliot finds himself recruited by a mysterious anarchist named Mr. Robot (Slater). Unfortunately, after striking back at Evil Corp, Elliot finds himself caught by their mysterious figurehead, Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström).
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Malek describes the relationship between Elliot and M. Robot, "Mr. Robot is the catalyst for getting Elliot to do these audacious things he wants him to do, things that Elliot might not be able to on his own or have the wherewithal to do on his own. They have a very up-and-down relationship. It's very much working through things together, learning from one another, hating one another. It's another one of Elliot's many complicated relationships, but Mr. Robot can, at times, inspire Elliot to go beyond what he thinks he is capable of. But he can also push him in really pointed ways. (Laughs.)
The Pacific actor adds, "It's one of those relationships where you really know how to push the other's buttons to get them to do something, as all of our complicated relationships are - it's a marriage of sorts."
As we previously mentioned, thanks to critical acclaim and almost 3 million views, USA has announced that they are picking up the hacker drama for a sophomore season. The second season, which will include a minimum of 10 episodes, will air in 2016.
