Sarah Jessica Parker's role in the upcoming biopic film about pornographic actress 'Linda Lovelace' has been cut from the final edit of the film.

Parker had stepped in to replace Demi Moore for the role at the last minute. She filmed the role of women's rights activist Gloria, who had founded Ms. Magazine. Her magazine published 'The Real Linda Lovelace' article which portrayed the porn actress' abusive relationship with her husband Chuck Traynor. Lovelace had published a memoir in 1986, with Gloria writing the introduction.

Although directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman appreciated Parker's work  and were happy with it, they could not honor the original scripted plot, which was penned until 1984. The actual edited version of the film reportedly ended in 1980.

Speaking of Parker's role being edited from the film, Friedman told Entertainment Weekly: "You never want to make that call. "

"But she was a pro," Epstein said.

'Lovelace' is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22. Amanda Seyfried will star as Linda Lovelace. Peter Sarsgaard, Juno Temple, Adam Brody, Chris Noth, James Franco and Chloë Sevigny also star in the highly anticipated film.

Last year, Parker had spoken to media about stepping in for Demi Moore while she recovered from health issues. "It was difficult because, obviously, the circumstances are not ideal," she told Access Hollywood.  "I obviously conveyed that to the filmmakers [and] that I was aware and I was sorry for the reasons that they had to reach out to me. Also, of course, the somewhat daunting task of playing somebody with very little time [to prepare], who was obviously such an important person in the women's movement, but also played such a pivotal role in Linda's life."
