Instead of having the retired footballer David Beckham practically nude in a photoshoot campaign, H&M decided to switch it up by featuring this year's campaign with comedian, Kevin Hart alongside Beckham, fully clothed. Watch a funny new video of these two stars teaming up for the campaign!
According to WWD, Beckham and Hart were spotted together in NYC back in July, wearing matching outfits, in what was apparently a new H&M campaign. Those rumors were confirmed on Tuesday morning, when H&M released a trailer for its "Modern Essentials" ad, starring both Hart and Beckham.
As reported by GQ Magazine, in the video campaign, Beckham's agent notifies him that Kevin Hart, a method actor, will be playing Beckham in "I, Beckham: The Movie," a biopic based on his life. In order for Hart to prepare himself for the role, he plans on accompanying Beckham in all of his daily activities, to get fully into character. All while rocking the exact same outfit as Beckham, which just so happens to be the fall line H&M is promoting: Modern Essentials.
According to Huffington Post, the short video features Hart moving into Beckham's house, attempting (and failing) to take an ice bath alongside Beckham and even taking a stab at Beckham's English accent. Hart is clearly extra enthusiastic about the opportunity to portray and study Beckham, as Beckham is clearly not: "How long are you staying?"
Don't get it confused though; the alleged one-sided relationship is strictly for on-camera purposes. In an interview with H&M, Beckham called Hart "one of the funniest, smartest guys around." Hart then explained why starring in a campaign with the retired athlete was so exciting for him:
"To be able to make fun of a global icon like David Beckham is a comedian's dream," said Hart. "I love fashion as much as I love sports, which is why I was so excited to star in David's new H&M campaign."
The full video will release on Sept. 28, although you can view the trailer below:
