Okay, folks, now that we've been able to (kind of) get over the fact that Jon Stewart is SERIOUSLY gone from The Daily Show and not coming back, we're ready to start anew. Right? Well, hopefully, because South African comedian Trevor Noah is stepping in and filling the role. And it all kicks off tonight.
Yes, the premiere episode of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs tonight on Comedy Central at 11:30 p.m. With that in mind, MStars News is hoping to see a few things during his first episode. And no, none of them are "some funny" because truthfully Noah is funny.
Moreover, he's backed by "The Best F#@king News Team Ever" so he'll probably be okay.
Let's check out our list:
AN ADMISSION TO THE WEIRDNESS AT THE TOP OF THE SHOW
Much like John Oliver did when Stewart took a sabbatical to film Rosewater, we're hoping Noah admits that seeing him behind the desk instead of Stewart is a little weird. Of course, should he not, we'll still be cool with it but we can't see the show kicking off without some sort of tribute to the man who made the show what it is.
A GREAT INTERVIEW WITH KEVIN HART
It was recently announced that Kevin Hart will be the first guest of Noah's Daily Show. Is the host any good at interviewing? Well, we're not sure, but we're certainly hoping so.
Much of the appeal of watching a guy like Stewart every night (okay, four days a week) was the fact that he was pretty damn intelligent and knew how to deliver not just the funny but also some real news—and definitely a serious interview. Now, from what we've heard, Noah also seems to be capable of that, so... #HeresHoping
A CAMEO FROM JON STEWART
Okay, yeah, this probably won't happen. But hey, we can dream.
MOMENT OF ZEN
We've heard that nothing is going to change on the new version of The Daily Show, which has us wondering whether or not the ending Moment of Zen will change. Let's hope not.
