Sunday was a big night for Oscar winner Ben Affleck. Just hours after Affleck won a Best Picture Oscar, the "Argo" producer, director, and star celebrated by shaving off his beard. After being snubbed by the Academy in the Best Director category, "Argo" won Best Picture at 2013 Oscars much to the delight of a now clean faced Ben Affleck.

Affleck gave an emotional acceptance speech Sunday night, including getting chocked up when talking about his wife Jennifer Garner. Affleck's speech was quite reflective as the movie star looked back on his career.

"You have to work harder than you think you possibly can. It doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life because that's going to happen. All that matters is you have to get up."

E! News confirmed that the actor shaved off what became his trademark beard just hours after winning the Oscar. While celebrating at an Oscar after-party at a restaurant in West Hollywood, Affleck made the decision to make the shave. A source told E! News, "He did it to mark the end of a chapter. It had that ceremonial quality to it."

Anyone who saw Affleck's Oscars speech after winning Best Picture for "Argo" knows the actor was very appreciative and honored to win. Affleck tweeted Monday...

"Thank you Academy, Tony, the cast and crew. What a ride #Argo has been for us all! #Oscars "

So what is next for Affleck now that he is an Oscar winner for his role as producer, director, and star of "Argo"? I guess we will just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure though, Affleck is now clean shaven and ready to take on the world.

The newly bare-faced Affleck has not made any public appearances yet with the new look that we know of, but be sure to keep checking Mstarz for the latest on the once gruff movie star.
