Fresh off the recent release of his new Netflix film trailer, Ridiculous 6, comedian Adam Sandler surprised a group of veterans at the Comedy Boot Jam private event this past Oct. 28.
It's being reported that the actor-comedian stopped by the event to honor those who have served in the military "in a unique and fun way," according to Look to the Stars. Much like in his films, Sandler was accompanied by the likes of fellow comedians David Spade and Rob Schneider
Comedy Boot Jam is hosted by comedian Josh Wolf and was created to raise awareness for Boot Campaign, which is a nonprofit charity that promotes "patriotism, awareness and assistance to current and former military service members and their families."
Sandler has been in the headlines as of late for the recent release of the trailer for his new film, Ridiculous 6. The film is a spoof of old westerns and has caused some controversy. A while back, several of the film's extras, who were of Native American descent, reportedly walked off the set due to the "offensive" nature of the film and some of the dialogue.
You know, golden lines like, "Say honey, how about this, we go someplace and I put my pee pee in your teepee?"
Despite the controversy, Netflix is standing with Sandler. The company has come out saying, "The movie has ridiculous in the title for a reason: because it is ridiculous. It is a broad satire of Western movies and stereotypes they popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only a part of – but in on – the joke."
